OUTLINE

Japan Automotive Service Equipment Association (JASEA) was founded as a voluntary organization in February, 1948. In September, 1962, JASEA was authorized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) to be the incorporated association, which has moved to General Incorporated Association in April, 2012.
JASEA has been contributed to motor vehicle safety and environmental conservation by maintaining accuracy of motor vehicle inspection equipment, improving quality and promoting fair distribution.
Our activities are calibration (checking accuracy and adjustment, main activity), technical standard conformity test (test of brand-new motor vehicle inspection equipment), holding the exhibition "Auto Service Show" and investigation, research and improvement handling technique of motor vehicle inspection equipment, public relations by JASEA GUIDE. JASEA strives to improve nation's living and develops the industry.

HISTORY

February 16, 1948	Established Japan Automotive Service Equipment Association. Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
February, 1949	Opened Kansai district office.
August	Relocated the head office to Shiba Shinbori Minato-ku, Tokyo.
July, 1958	Relocated the head office to Zaimoku-cho, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
September 15, 1962	Authorized by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Transport to be a Corporate Juridical Person.
July, 1965	Relocated the head office to Toyosawa-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
February, 1978	Designated by the Minister of Transport as an official organization to conduct shipping inspection of motor vehicle inspection equipment and designated by the Director general of each District Transport Bureau as an organization for the calibration of motor vehicle inspetion equipment.
July, 1978	Relocated the head office to Shinjuku 7-chome, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
May, 1981	Authorized by the Director General of each District Transport Bureau as juridical person of the calibration for exhaust gas measuring instrument.
April, 2001	Started technical standard conformity test.
April, 2001	Designated by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as an official organization to conduct calibration of motor vehicle inspection equipment.
November, 2001	Registered by the accredited quality management system registrar as a complied organization with the international standard ISO 9001:2000.
October, 2004	Registered by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as calibration organization to conduct calibration of motor vehicle inspection equipment.
April 1, 2012	Sift to the general incorporated association.
